At Whitsitt, our vision is to promote students who excel in academics, leadership and collaboration. As an environmental sciences STEAM magnet elementary school, we focus on developing the next generation of leaders who will save the planet. 

Nurturing the Love of Learning

We tap into the natural wonder of children. Learning is active, engaging, and connected to the real world. Through hands-on, project-based experiences, students explore science, math, and reading in meaningful ways. Our environmental engineering focus brings lessons to life—whether students are testing soil, building models, or planting in the garden, they’re learning by doing. These experiences spark curiosity, build problem-solving skills, and help students see themselves as capable thinkers and creators.

Empowering Learners to Excel

Our faculty and staff work collaboratively with parents and community partners to build the academic, social and emotional needs of all students. We believe that all students can learn at high levels when given the tools to fit their individual needs. Our faculty provides tailored instruction in reading and math to meet the needs of each student. Whitsitt also offers the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program to support and challenge gifted and talented learners.

Located in Nashville's Woodbine neighborhood, Whitsitt Elementary is a microcosm of our city: a vibrant community with a diverse population of students from all walks of life. We are a few minutes from downtown and two miles from Nashville Soccer Club's stadium.
